Do you have problems finding focus in your work? Some provoking thoughts from Hannah Morgan.
Focus can be short, clumps of time, when you work exclusively on one project, idea, campaign, target. This prevents the need to switch back and forth between different and frequently unrelated thoughts.
Certainly a challenge for me – as Barrie will attest
This is a real issue for people with portfolio careers. We like to think we can multi task but as Dr John Medina points out in Brain Rules – it can’t be done. We have to “check out” of one task and “check-in” to another. This can be done very quickly but it throws out our thinking and makes it hard to focus and thus achieve.

Katie: Thank you so much for referencing my post. Focus is tough. Many highly creative and entrepreurial thinkers especially have difficulty with this. A portfolio career really can be challenging, how do you do all those things you love doing equally well, with the time and committment they require?
