in Networking,New ways of working

We like to keep you up to date with opportunities that might help in pursuing your portfolio career. This was a site that we were not aware of when we wrote the book and the joy of a blog is that we can keep you up to date without having to wait for a reprint. I should point out that whenever we suggest helpful resources in our blog we are simply passing on information.  There are never any financial arrangements between ourselves and organisations, products or people that we mention. This is a brokering site that brings together freelancers and portfolio workers with employers to engage on specific projects. If anyone has used this we would love to hear from you as to how helpful it was.

Global marketplaces such as this are a fantastic idea and one which could never have existed before we lived in our internet-connected world, of course.

They seem to offer a great deal to the buyer but I’m not so sure they benefit the supplier as much. Checking rates for pay-per-click marketing management (some of my specialisms) I find people quoting £8 – £12 per hour, which is way below my usual rate.

I’d be interested to know if other freelancers / portfolio workers have had a good experience of these sites.

Thanks James. It is really important to get detailed feedback like this as a guide to others as to how useful brokering firms like this really are.
