Well – as portfolio workers we know that the more we work from home the less we have to earn. It is interesting to see a new research report from the Telework Research Network that states that an individual will save £4,300 per year, and employers £3,000 per worker per year if those that could (and wanted to) started working from home just 2 days a week.
That would also have the same effect as taking 2.5 million cars off the road, something Londoners who still have to commute would certainly appreciate. The Future Foundation is already estimating that by 2020 80% of the workforce will be teleworking. What we also know is that the more flexible people begin to work then the more attractive a portfolio career becomes.
