As you will know we prefer to use the phrase work life blend as this is more dynamic and flexible than the process suggested by work life balance. Having said that there is an excellent article by Peter Crush in the Guardian in which he looks at the latest stats which show that we are spending more hours at work than ever and certainly more than in the rest of Europe. We are earning less than we have done for years. We are digitally overloaded and take few steps to protect our income. This probably impacts portfolio workers even more so than people in more traditional career patterns. So why do we continue to opt for portfolio careers?
