One of the pluses that portfolo workers like to emphasise to more normal people (!) is that there is less and less job security around compared with the 20th century so it pays to have more than one egg in your paid work basket. A fascinating website that was sent to me recently attempts to quantify the likelyhood of any job that you have being replaced by a robot. If anything this emphasises even more so the fact that one needs to be continuing to look for new opportunities in paid work and especially if you only have one job and if it is highly likely to be replaced in the near future by a robot – for example, accountants and auditors at 93% or librarians at 63% or bookeepers at 97%. You are on more solid ground as a writer (3.8%), an elementary school teacher (0.4%), or a marriage or family therapist (1.4%)………………….
